Kansas City Youth Ballroom advocates community and emphasises to students the importance of sharing gifts of time, thought, and skill with others. By becoming more self-sufficient, they gain the ability to create positive changes around them. We embrace the humility to embrace and respect everyone’s differences – we may learn from understanding another viewpoint or experience.

We encourage students to reach outside of themselves. More experienced dancers help guide newcomers during practice. Senior members often attend younger age division classes as teaching assistants. It is clear that within Kansas City Youth Ballroom, we look after one another – and by being the best in ourselves, we allow those around us to become the best in themselves.

Kansas City Youth Ballroom students carry the group ethos with them into the greater community. Our dancers perform at public events to educate others how ballroom and latin help them develop both physically and socially. We frequently visit Senior Living Communities and Rehabilitation Centres to perform and encourage others to dance with us.  By spending the time to dance, play music, and share fellowship, our young people gain perspective and appreciation that even now, they can make a difference.
